Sophia Rossi, one of the co-founders behind HelloGiggles, came up with the idea to launch a website that was defined as ‘anti-boys club’—all of its content would be lady-friendly. Along with fellow co-founders—writer Molly McAleer and everyone’s favorite quirky chick Zooey Deschanel—Rossi recently celebrated HelloGiggles’ one-year anniversary. To commemorate the site’s first digital birthday, we had Ms. Rossi fill out our ELLE-ified, Proust-inspired questionnaire.
ELLE: What is your favorite smell?
Sophia Rossi: I love the smell of vanilla—it smells sweet and also like cupcakes.
ELLE: What do you consider the epitome of happiness?
SR: SLEEP. LOTS OF SLEEP!
ELLE: How do you define luxury?
SR: Luxury to me is not having to use my phone for a few days.
ELLE: What is the last dream you remember?
SR: I had a dream that Mindy Kaling and I were at a Rihanna concert, and she asked me to go on stage and do the “Birthday Cake” dance….and I did it but NO one recorded it!
ELLE: What’s your favorite childhood memory?
SR: Reading on a family vacation through South America. I read 15 Sweet Valley High books. I barely looked up.
ELLE: What’s the last book you read and loved?
SR: I just finished all three 50 Shades of Grey. I’m not even embarrassed. In fact, I’m proud!
ELLE: Describe your home’s aesthetic.
SR: I’m into no clutter, no “stuff” and lots of young adult books. And lots of candles.
ELLE: What are your vices?
SR: I can be a little moody, I spread myself too thin, and I never answer my phone? Are those vices or more faults? I also use my phone way too much.
ELLE: Describe yourself in five words or less.
SR: Loyal, neurotic, warm, unconditional, sleepy.
ELLE: What possession will you never throw away?
SR: I will never throw away my phone. Is that obvious? I guess my journal because I would be worried people will read my thoughts.
