Kate Moss starred in Longchamp’s ads for years before whipping up a capsule collection for the French handbag line. Agyness Deyn put in two seasons with Dr. Martens before landing a design gig.
Following in Moss’ face-turned-designer foot steps, Deyn will design clothing, accessories and shoes for the iconic brand. The British model, who spent fashion week on a West End stage instead of runways, tells WWD that she bought her first pair of Docs at age 13. ““The brand is a great fit for me, as it stands for strong character and being able to shape your own personal identity,” she said.
Starting this fall, the Agyness Deyn for Dr. Martens label will be available globally. It’ll also mark another (positive) turn in Deyn’s career. She exploded on to the scene five years ago and has since dropped largely out of the fashion spotlight. We celebrated her return in ELLE, with her Rebel Without A Cause-inspired shoot photographed by James Franco, and look forward to her design debut!
