Two new makeup collaborations were just announced, the most notable being Beth Ditto’s partnership with M.A.C. After creating collections with other flamboyant musical artists (see Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj), the cosmetic retailer has inked a deal with Ditto to design a limited-edition line for June. WWD posted a visual from the campaign today and we can’t wait to get our hands on Ditto-inspired liquid liner and bold pink lipstick. It marks a return of sorts for Ditto; after a couple years of in the fashion spotlight the industry sort of moved onto other musical girls like Florence Welch and most recently, Lana Del Rey. Look for Ditto to pop back up at fashion weeks now that she’s attached to a major show sponsor.
Another iconic figure who scored a beauty deal? Tinker Bell. Following in the footsteps of a slew of Disney-inspired makeup collections (see Alice in Wonderland for Paul & Joe and M.A.C.’s Venemous Villains). Pixi and Target have teamed up with the larger-than-life brand to craft fairytale-perfect confections. Look for the creatively labeled products (names include “Fairy Dust” and “Magic Tink Tint”) on Target.com January 29, and in-store this March.
