While hair ‘dos, lipstick shades, and nail art get the bulk of the attention during Fashion Week, there was one beauty trend on the spring ’12 runways that deviated from the norm: bold brows. From Derek Lam to Thakoon, Michael Kors to Altuzarra, eyebrows reached Elizabeth Taylor levels. Some looked more natural than others—back in September, we dubbed it the rise of the beauty faux pas—but it seems as though the look has quite a bit of staying power.
In the past month, two new product launches target brows, both helping women achieve that face-framing look. Perfekt Beauty’s Brow Perfection Gel, a light, silky formula that tints and tames, helps bulk up brows without going over-the-top. The product, which looks a lot like mascara (wand and all), is big on natural ingredients, including Honeysuckle flower and sage extracts. A quick brush up will fill in any gaps between hairs.
If you’ve had a long history with tweezers, turn to Anastasia’s Brow Enhancing Serum Advanced. It’s a just-released reformulated version of the top-selling product from Anastasia Soare, the woman behind some of Hollywood’s best brows (think Madonna and Jennifer Lopez). The clear liquid gel includes Panthenol, which is used to thicken hair, and Biotin, dubbed the hair growth vitamin. Apply regularly and you can expect fuller arches by the time the spring collections actually hit stores.
