After months of speculation, Britney Spears has been officially confirmed as an X Factor judge, in a reportedly $15 million deal. She’ll be joined by fellow new judge—and former Disney star—Demi Lovato, as well as returners Simon Cowell and record producer L.A. Reid at the judges’ table. Lovato and Spears replace Paula Abdul and The Pussycat Dolls’ Nicole Scherzinger, both of whom left after just one season of the show.
“I’m so excited about this whole experience,” Spears said at the announcement, which was met with cheers. “It’s going to be so much fun and so different from anything I’ve ever done. I’m ready to find a true star.” Added 19-year-old Lovato: “I’m excited to represent my generation.”
Spears then Tweeted the first picture of the four new judges together.
