Jennifer Lawrence has had two major Calvin Klein fashion moments. The actress caused a stir at her first Academy Awards ceremony (she was nominated for her role in Winter’s Bone last year), when she showed up in a sleek, floor length red gown and topped every best dressed list the next morning. Then, earlier this year, she donned a forest green silk dress, with a plunging neckline, to the New York premiere of The Hunger Games, once again scoring high on the best dressed scale. So now Calvin Klein’s returning the favor by naming a dress after her character in the movie.
The Katniss dress, at left, hit Net-a-porter this morning, and we’re guessing it had a different name (if any) when Francisco Costa sent it down the runway last September. Though there is something armor-like about the arched seam at the hips, the silhouette doesn’t really lend itself to shooting arrows. No matter, we’re guessing, to the customer who spends $5000 on the summer frock, but we do hope they get the reference, or have a kid around to fill them in.
