The custom-made Prada dress Carey Mulligan wore as co-host of Monday’s Met Gala—and to make her red carpet debut with new husband Marcus Mumford—is now up for grabs.
Last night, the silver and gold degradé paillette dress—which landed Carey on more than a few best-dressed lists—was listed at $500 on eBay. Bidding is already up to $1,000, and the auction doesn’t end until Saturday, May 19, with all proceeds going to Oxfam America, an international relief organization that targets poverty and hunger.
When Keira Knightley donated her 2006 Vera Wang Oscar gown to be auctioned off for the benefit of Oxfam, it raised £4,300 (or almost $7,900), while Natalie Portman’s 2012 vintage Dior Oscar gown was sold for $50,000. Hopefully Carey’s dress can best them both.
