Come September, Cle de Peau Beaute is releasing what it believes to be the most expensive face cream ever made—and they’re only making three jars of it. La Creme is supposed to lift and tighten skin on the face through powerful anti-aging properties, and at $13,213 for just 50 grams, its jars come out to be more expensive than gold.
Each of the three jars—made to commemorate Cle de Peau Beaute’s 30th anniversary—is handcrafted and features three platinum rungs and 30 layers of crystal designed by the French glassmaker Crystal Saint-Louis. The brand is accepting orders for the limited-edition jars at its main Tokyo store from August 30; perhaps Amanda Seyfriend, who has been a face of the brand since December 2010, will get one?
If you’re not in the market to drop $13,000 on a face cream, however, Barneys always has La Creme in a less luxe jar, going for $775.
