On Friday, the Times reported that Diane von Fürstenberg has partnered with Current/Elliot on a collection of skirts and ‘slacks’. Though JBrand’s been the go-to denim company for designers looking to introduce denim into their ready-to-wear collections (Christopher Kane, Proenza Schouler, Erdem), Current/Elliott did collaborate with Marni two years ago.
The LA-based contemporary collection, which was founded by celebrity stylists Emily Current and Meritt Elliot and is now run by Serge Azria (Max’s brother), offered their silhouettes to Diane’s signature prints resulting in summery skinny jeans and denim skirts, like the one at left. Though it’s von Fürstenberg ‘s first foray into the lucrative world of denim, she’s become increasingly fond of collaborations, especially in the last year. Below, we chart her growing portfolio.
Diane’s first collaboration was with the Rug Company. We still want the emerald green rug printed with a giant jaguar.
The designer may take the cake for the oddest collaboration: she whipped up a collection of hospital gowns for The Cleveland Clinic.
DvF designs a few rooms for Claridge’s, the iconic British Art Deco hotel.
The designer partners with Gap on a collection of children’s wear.
H.Stern produces a fine jewelry collection called Sutras with DvF.
Von Fürstenberg teams with Brazilets on a capsule collection of the classic Brazilian rubber bracelets printed with sayings like “Love is Life” and “Be the Woman You Want to Be.”
