Chic shade manufacturer Illesteva is lending its unique brand of cool to fashion’s phoenix, Zac Posen.
On the heels of his well received fall 2012 collection, the onetime wunderkind announces his very first line of sunglasses. The collaboration, which features a cat-eye and an oval frame in a variety of finishes, will soon be available at luxury retailers and online for $300 a pair. (You can sneak a peek on his spring runway.)
“As we develop the Zac Posen brand, sunglasses allow me to maintain an aspect of flare and attitude for clothing that transitions into day,” Posen tells WWD, adding that working with the boutique company was ideal for creating a “focused collection in the first stage of the our eyewear development.”
Though Illesteva’s partnered with individuals in the past—André Saraiva, Dasha Zhukova—and produced shades for runway shows for Band of Outsiders and Opening Ceremony, this marks their biggest branded collaboration yet.
