Gwyneth Paltrow has signed on to play Dora Maar to Antonio Banderas’ Picasso. The film, 33 Dias, will be directed by Carlos Saura, the prolific Spanish director, and cover the making of the artist’s “Guernica.” The movie’s not even listed on IMDB yet, which means it will probably be slated for a 2014 release (especially since Paltrow will be working on Iron Man 3 next year). Though Picasso’s renderings of his most famous muse are grotesque, Maar was actually quite beautiful. The French photographer was already famous for her own work when she met the Spanish artist in 1936. They were together for almost nine years.
