With a name like Decades, there was bound to be a reality show. Last month, Bravo announced that it was picking up a new series starring Cameron Silver and Christos Garkinos, the duo behind Hollywood’s go-to vintage store of that fated name. The boutique, which offers impeccable vintage clothes and accessories from brands like Dior, Chanel, Halston and Hermes, has a few more projects planned between now and the fall premiere of its show.
First, they’re partnering with Rent the Runway. Silver and Runway’s head merchant, Derek Guillemete, flew to Paris to pick out a slew of vintage jewelry and accessories that will be available to rent on the site at the end of this month. The scored a “a gorgeous Chanel metallic silver handbag” and “Hermes scarves, Louis Vuitton bags and of course boatloads of costume jewelry from Chanel.” Though they’re kicking things off with accessories, they do plan on adding vintage clothing to the site, meaning you can skip the Herve for a New Look.
As any vintage lover should, they’re also celebrating the opening of the Met’s Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations. Decades will open a New York pop up shop on April 27th and 28th and stuff Open House Gallery full of vintage pieces from both designers. They’ll also use the opportunity to show off the treasures they found in Paris before they’re available to rent online.
Decades New York, featuring Rent the Runway, is open to the public on Friday, April 27 (10AM to 7PM) & Saturday, April 28 (10AM to 6PM) at Open House Gallery, 201 Mulberry Street.
