Come August, Opening Ceremony is debuting a fashion and culture magazine called OC Annual. Each issue will center on a specific theme, WWD reports, with the first focusing on sports in honor of the London Olympics.
Photographers Bruce Weber, Walter Pfeiffer, Todd Cole, and Tim Barber are all lined up for the premiere issue, and 30,000 copies are expected to be published. In an internal memo, Opening Ceremony co-founder Carol Lim wrote, “As magazine fanatics, O.C. founder Humberto Leon and myself are aiming to create a collectible publication for a new generation, something beautiful and special in the vein of Benetton’s ‘Colors,’ Comme des Garçons’ ‘Six’ and Joe McKenna’s ‘Joe.’ We want to make a magazine that will appeal to kids in Nebraska as much as industry people.”
The specialty boutique is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year and will also publish a commemorative book with Rizzoli in September; contributors include Terry Richardson, Chloë Sevigny, Alexander Wang, Ryan McGinley, Sally Singer, M.I.A., and Terence Koh.
