It’s been a good couple of years for cats. Since I Can Has Cheezburger kicked off the kitty craze in 2007, felines have made it into runway shows—Miu Miu spring ’10 and Victoria Beckham spring ’12—and ad campaigns (Milu, an illustrated black cat, is the official muse for Jason Wu’s upcoming collection for Target). Karl‘s officially a member of the fan club and even the beauty world has taken note, with MAC releasing a Hello Kitty collaboration in 2009. But Paul & Joe Beaute takes the cake when it comes to cat love.
To celebrate its 10th anniversary, the always girly French label’s makeup division has designed its entire spring collection around the four-legged creature: There are the nail polishes bearing names like Kitten Claws, Tigress, and Maneki Neko (the word for those beckoning white and gold cats you see at Japanese restaurants); face and eye palettes offer three shades—one matte, one pearlescent, one shiny—in the shape of a black and white kitty; the new Blusher Sticks feature creamy cheek powder molded to look like a cat wearing a bow tie and top hat.
Paul & Joe’s love runs so deep that they even recommend applying the blush by drawing three “whisker lines” before blending the color into cheeks. It’s the type of line that any 10-year-old would love, but one that seems to be working with grown women, too: Although the items aren’t officially for sale until February, they’re already available for pre-order on b-glowing.com.
