News surfaced this weekend that Nicole Kidman has entered the final round of talks to play Grace Kelly in Olivier Dahan’s Grace of Monaco. Variety reports that Kidman beat out “nearly every top actress” in Hollywood for the film, directed by the man behind La Vie En Rose. The role is actually set mostly in 1962, when Kelly’s already left Hollywood, married a prince and had two children; the plot revolves around the Princess’ role in keeping Monaco a tax haven.
Kidman’s not the only one taking on a familiar face. Sienna Miller just wrapped up Spellbound by Beauty, a BBC2 film chronicling Alfred Hitchcock’s obsession with Tippi Hedren and Chloe Moretz was recently cast in Mia Farrow’s most famous role (arguably) in a remake of Carrie.
