Everyone wants to play an icon these days! Nicole Kidman’s signed up to portray Grace Kelly, while Lindsay Lohan’s officially landed the role of Elizabeth Taylor. Meanwhile, Taylor Swift’s been busy securing the part of Joni Mitchell in the upcoming movie based on Sheila Weller’s book, Girls Like Us. Swift had a small role in Valentine’s Day, one of those epic Gary Marshall movies featuring nearly everyone in Hollywood, but this would be the twenty-two year old’s first leading role. The film covers the intertwining lives of Mitchell, Carole King and Carly Simon, so two other actresses will have the chance to play iconic women on screen. Rolling Stone reports that Allison Pill, who played Zelda Fitzgerald in Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris, will play King.
