Let us know if this MET Ball situation sounds familiar—you gather all your friends and sit around a computer, eagerly watching the homepage of Getty Images: “Proenza’s stepped out with Zoe Kravitz!” a friend shouts. “No I think that’s K.Stew,” you contest through micro-vision, squinting blindly at a crinkly-haired brunette in thumbnail-sized preview shots. Well good news remote MET Ball revelers, Amazon and the MET have decided to do all of our eyes a favor and live stream the red carpet!
It sounds like it’ll be an amped-up, much cooler version of E!’s Oscar coverage. Hosted by William Norwich and model Elettra Wiedemann, the broadcast will include interviews with co-chairs Miuccia Prada and newlywed Carey Mulligan, as well as pre-tapped segments discussing the event’s history, including its earlier days as a small, celebrity-less fete. Viewers will be privy to a behind-the-scenes look at this year’s exhibit, Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations, and can tweet questions to red carpet-goers with the hashtag, #MetQuestions.
Additionally, the evening’s hosts will give fans a further inside look on Facebook. ’Like’ the celebs page to see Wiedemann and Norwich provide preparation tips for attending the gala, or subscribe to their individual timelines for a more personalized perspective.
So if there’s ever a time to throw a Met Ball party together, this is it. Tune in here at 6:30PM on May 7th to take in all of the fun—and a ton of Prada!
