Last week, Chloe Green set a launch date for her long-rumored debut collection. Turns out it’s just shoes, and they will, of course, make their first appearance at Topshop—though there’s a first look at left.
The daughter of Sir Phillip Greene, who owns Arcadia and thus Topshop, will start with eight designs. All of them, from the crystal-covered platforms to the strappy black stilettos, are named for her family members and will come with green leather soles.
Of course, that begs the question, do you want your soles to scream a brand name? There are, allegedly, many fashion editors who paint the soles of their Louboutin’s black, and while Charlotte Olympia used to line the outside rim of her platforms in red, now she sticks a much subtler spider underneath her heels. Prada uses a small gold logo on the arch of the foot while brands like Stella McCartney and Celine let the shoe speak for itself. Would you ever go so far as to paint over a sole?
