patti smith reed krakoff Watch Patti Smith Write Poetry On Reed Krakoff’s Boxer Bag

Patti Smith composes a poem on a boxer bag.

Of all the fashion films to hit the Internet, none’s featured an artist quite like Patti Smith.  But the legendary artist, musician and writer lends the latter gift to Reed Krakoff in this short from director and long time Smith collaborator Steven Sebring.

Artist Jack Walls talks about Joe Frazier over music by Jesse Paris (Smith’s daughter) while Smith takes a Sharpie to the buttery surface of one of Krakoff’s Boxer bags.  The shape, which has quickly become the designer’s signature silhouette, inspires a free form poem that we can’t quite catch through the blurry lens.
